In this practical demonstration, we take you through the main stages of the procedure, including opening the ECU, identifying and temporarily removing the required resistor, connecting the Magic Motorsport FLEX tool and completing the unlock.
Once the unlock has been completed, compatible Bosch MD1 and MG1 ECUs can be programmed directly in the workshop using the supported FLEX connection method, removing the need to send the ECU away for an external unlock service.
This video covers:
- Opening the Bosch MD1CS003 ECU
- Locating the correct resistor
- Removing and refitting the resistor
- Connecting the FLEX boot and bench cables
- Starting the Boot Glitch unlock
- Checking the ECU after the unlock
- Preparing the ECU for reading and writing
The exact procedure, connection points and components will vary between ECU models.
Always follow the current Magic Motorsport FLEX software instructions and wiring diagrams for the specific ECU you are working on.
