Expand your WinOLS expertise to the specialist world of heavy commercial diesel ECUs. Examine named truck and industrial platforms, fault logic, engine torque supervision, aftertreatment architecture and the disciplined handling of multi-controller projects.
Intended for existing WinOLS users and heavy-duty technicians with ECU file experience. Prior diesel calibration knowledge is strongly recommended.
What you will learn
Learn through practical ECU-file exercises, supported by explanations of what each map controls, how related maps interact and how to assess the result.
Day-by-day course programme
Day 1: Bosch EDC17CV41 and Delphi DCMI ETC3
- Identify commercial diesel map and diagnostic structures.
- Investigate diagnostic trouble code (DTC) logic and reaction classes.
- Study EGR, DPF and SCR management for diagnosis and compliant repair.
- Review torque supervision and build structured WinOLS projects.
Day 2: Cummins CM2350 and Volvo TRW 2.3
- Understand Cummins and Volvo diagnostic and fail-safe frameworks.
- Review aftertreatment monitoring and torque interventions.
- Explore ECU file analysis across heavy-duty operating conditions.
- Discuss calibration validation, checksum checks and legally compliant workflows.
Day 3: Bosch MCM2.1/ACM2.1 and Caterpillar ADEM 5
- Examine dual-controller communication and synchronised control logic.
- Understand interactions between engine management and aftertreatment modules.
- Explore ADEM 5 project organisation and calibration structures.
- Practise documenting and reviewing interconnected commercial ECU projects.

Who should attend?
Intended for existing WinOLS users and heavy-duty technicians with ECU file experience. Prior diesel calibration knowledge is strongly recommended.
What you will take away
- A clearer, repeatable method for analysing ECU calibration files.
- Practical experience of the software and the engine strategies it controls.
- Understanding of the checks needed before a file is used on a customer vehicle.
- Better judgement when developing calibration changes independently.
What to bring
Bring a laptop with a genuine, current full version of EVC WinOLS installed and working. The demonstration version does not provide all the functions required for the practical exercises.
Course details
- Dates: 21-23 March 2027
- Duration: 3 days
- Venue: VIEZU USA, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
- Software: EVC WinOLS
- Applications: Heavy and commercial diesel ECU tuning
