Magic Motorsport tuning training teaches you to read, edit and write engine files using Magic Motorsport tools and software. That covers the StageX editing platform and the Flex hardware that reads and writes files from the vehicle. Courses run online at your own pace or in-person at the VIEZU Technical Academy, spanning diesel and petrol ECU work from your first project through to advanced file building. Online modules start from £75, with hands-on classroom training available for tuners who want time on the dyno.
Whether you run a busy garage and want to add remapping to your service list, or you are moving into tuning as a career, the training is built around what professional calibrators actually do day to day.
What You Learn on a Magic Motorsport Tuning Training Course
There are two sides to Magic Motorsport tuning. The Flex hardware reads and writes files from the ECU using bench, boot and OBD methods. StageX is the editing software, and it works as a standalone platform with built-in AI features that help you find the right maps faster. You can read a file with Flex or another tuning tool, then edit it in StageX, so the training treats each skill on its own terms rather than assuming you always use one fixed setup.
Online modules break this down into manageable chunks. The StageX series walks through activating your setup, exploring the maps you need, unlocking the stock ECU strategy and tuning for performance, with separate paths for diesel and petrol engines. You learn ECU and TCU programming as a process, not just a sequence of button presses, which is the part that separates a confident tuner from someone copying settings they do not understand.
For tuners who want tutor support and practice rather than working purely from screen recordings, in-person classroom training is run at the VIEZU Technical Academy. Group sizes are kept small so each person gets one-to-one feedback.
Why Choose Remap 101 for Magic Motorsport Training
Remap 101 is part of the VIEZU Technologies family, so the support does not stop when your course ends. You get the technical back-up of the wider group, including expert file writers and an industry file service that you can lean on long after the training finishes.
The in-person training at the Bidford-upon-Avon headquarters in Warwickshire gives you time on the 3000hp Mustang MD-AWD-500 dyno, one of only a few in the UK. Seeing the effect of your remap live on the rollers is the kind of thing online learning cannot replicate. There is also in-person training in Salt Lake City, Utah for the US market and we also put on in-person classes in locations around the world. You can see our upcoming courses on our tuning course calendar.

Magic Motorsport Tuning Training FAQs
How much does Magic Motorsport tuning training cost?
Individual online modules start from £75 each. In-person classroom training is priced higher and reflects the small group sizes, tutor support and dyno time. You can enrol online, speak to us via live chat or call the team on +44 (0) 1789774444 to talk through which option fits your experience level.
What is the difference between StageX and Flex?
Flex is the Magic Motorsport hardware tool that reads and writes files from the vehicle. StageX is the software you use to edit those files, and it runs as a standalone tuning platform with built-in AI. You do not have to pair the two. You can read a file with Flex or a different tuning tool and still edit it in StageX. If you want to focus purely on the software side, you can also view our StageX tuning training courses.
Can I learn ECU and TCU programming as a complete beginner?
Yes, you can learn ECU and TCU programming as a complete beginner. The online modules start from the basics and build up, so you do not need prior tuning experience to begin. Garage owners and career changers make up a large part of who trains with us, alongside hobbyists. In-person training then takes you into more hands-on territory once you have the fundamentals.
Do I need to own Magic Motorsport tools before I train?
For the online modules you can follow the workflow and learn the process without owning the hardware, though having access to the tool and software helps you practise what you see. For some course sessions you may be expected to bring your own equipment, so check the individual course page before booking.
