$268.83

Advanced tuning to achieve pops, bangs, burbles and other effects, using EVC WinOLS5

Refine your tuning expertise with this specialist pops‑and‑bangs course for EVC WinOLS. In four advanced lessons you’ll learn how to identify, modify and synchronise the key maps that control over‑run fuel‑cut delay and ignition timing on two platforms: Bosch MED 9.1.2 (Audi TTRS) and Bosch MG1CS024 (BMW X3M). Through step‑by‑step video tutorials you’ll discover how to activate crackles on demand using drive‑mode controls, extend fuel‑cut delay without altering AFRs, and apply consistent ignition retardation while respecting catalyst temperature limits. A quiz and certificate of completion are included, and you can study anytime with lifetime access.

The course includes quizzes to test your knowledge, and you earn a VIEZU certificate of completion if you pass the quiz tests.

The tutor presenting this course has been using EVC WinOLS software 15 years plus and has delivered Master Tuning map writing courses and training sessions all around the world including the UK, USA, China. As well as the Middle East, South Africa and other international locations with great success. Now you can participate in these tuning and remapping training courses at your own convenience. And at a pace to suit you and from your own home or workshop. Learn first-hand from the experts and grow and strengthen your tuning skills, personal development and remap knowledge.

Description

Advanced tuning to achieve pops, bangs, burbles and other effects, using EVC WinOLS5

Advanced pops and bangs solutions with EVC WinOLS5 software. This is a unique online training course, and your expert trainer is VIEZU’s technical director and managing director, Simon White.

Course overview

This intensive online course demystifies pops and bangs tuning by focusing on two popular petrol engines: the Audi TTRS’s MED 9.1.2 and the BMW X3M’s MG1CS024. Working inside WinOLS, you’ll learn how to locate and analyse the core maps that govern fuel cut‑off, drive‑mode logic and ignition timing. You’ll see how to tailor the over‑run delay to keep fuel flowing for a controlled crackle, and how to adjust base, optimum and minimum ignition maps so combustion shifts safely into the exhaust. The course also introduces MG1‑specific sound‑duration and catalyst‑temperature limiters, giving you the tools to create sporty over‑run acoustics without compromising reliability or emissions compliance.

What you’ll learn

  • Map identification and analysis – Use mappacks and search functions in WinOLS to find fuel‑cut delay tables, ignition timing maps (base, optimum and minimum), and MG1CS024 sound‑tuning maps.

  • Extending over‑run fuel‑cut delay – Modify delay times on the MED 9.1.2 to keep injectors active during deceleration and generate crackles, and apply similar adjustments to MG1CS024 drive‑mode delay maps to enable pops only in sport mode.

  • Activation zones and drive modes – Define specific RPM/load windows for pops and bangs and leverage drive‑mode switch maps to enable or disable sound tuning depending on the driver’s selection.

  • Ignition timing strategies – Retard timing consistently across base, optimum and minimum maps by 10–30 degrees to shift combustion into the exhaust and control the volume and frequency of pops.

  • Safety and catalyst‑temperature protection – Understand the function of catalyst‑temperature limiters on the MG1CS024 and learn why these limits must remain unchanged. You’ll also explore how to keep the effect confined to safe RPM ranges to avoid overstressing the turbocharger, exhaust valves and catalysts.

  • Practical workflow in WinOLS – Follow along with screen‑recorded demonstrations for every step, from loading original files and comparing baselines to saving modified projects and verifying your changes.

Course features

  • Step‑by‑step video tutorials with clear narration and on‑screen highlights showing how to edit each map.

  • Structured progression across four lessons, starting with map discovery on MED 9.1.2 and culminating in advanced ignition work on MG1CS024.

  • Interactive quiz at the end of the course to reinforce key concepts and test your understanding.

  • Certificate of completion to validate your newly acquired pops‑and‑bangs tuning skills.

  • Lifetime access – study at your own pace, revisit demonstrations whenever needed and keep your course for future reference.

Perfect for

  • Experienced WinOLS users who want to add pops‑and‑bangs tuning to their toolbox.

  • Professional ECU remappers and calibration engineers seeking to create tailored over‑run sound strategies.

  • File writers working with modern Gasoline engine control units who need a reliable methodology for safe crackle / burbles / pop and bang tunes.

  • Anyone looking to elevate their understanding of ignition‑timing adjustment and sound‑tuning logic beyond beginner level.
